Sub-Frame for a 2002 Hyundai Sonata

This is just a technical FYI- I own a 2002 Hyundai Sonata, and I just got it inspected, aside from needing front brakes, I was told it needed a sub-frame as it was corroded. Thankfully it was covered under the fantastic Hyundai 10 yr. 10,000 mile warranty.

I want to feel good ! (AKA The Power of Intention Pt. II

Whenever I feel bad, or am worrying about something I will repeat to myself five little words "I want to feel good"

Power of Intention

I borrowed my Fathers car as mine is being inspected tomorrow; I wish I lived in a state where a quick zip through a drive-thru, and a cursory review of your car sufficed as a state inspection. Well, I don't so let's just get that thought out of my head, I know that my car is running fine and everything is in perfect working order, I have nothing to worry about...

That brings me to todays topic- in my Fathers car was one of D. Wayne Dyers "Power of Intention" cassette tapes. And the segment that happened to be on was about how stress, anxiety, nervousness, etc. is not our natural state, Wayne says that our natural state is peace, serenity and calm. He goes on to say that stress is brought on by the ego; I firmly believe that. Stress enters the picture when we compare ourselves to others (who has more, who has less; whose is bigger, better, newer) these comparisons that we all are guilty of allows stress, high blood pressure, anxiety to creep right into our lives. I have read Dr. Dyers book, it is a re-tread of all the other books I have read, but Dr. Dyer has this ability to put these concepts into laymans terms, and thus easier to understand. I freely admit the sole reason that I would not accept these simple, basic principles is due to MY ego. The ego is an all-consuming entity that resides in us all; it's appetite is insatiable, it rules over our in-bred feelings of peace and serenity.

I think about this everyday- get this- whenever I get this 'gung-ho' feeling that I will practise serenity as a daily regimen, I inevitably say to myself "If you do this, people will think you are apathetic, and just don't care" Case closed!!! The ego wins again! ego 15,365 me- nil.

Not that this is a total loss, I will master this at some point in my life; of this I am confident.

Hellooooo! To update on memorial day I did go to a parade with the family, then it was off to a Memorial service with my Dad a Korean War Veteran, it was a very nice service and I am glad I went.

I came across this website that gives you daily reasons to celebrate!! Today, June 1st happens to be donut day. I will be posting more links in the coming days, I have come across many interesting websites and I think would be fun to share them with you.

Memorial Day 2008

I just wanted to start this long weekend off with a tribute to our men and women overseas who are right now protecting our freedom, before you go getting all teary-eyed, they are not doing it for you personally, but you are benefiting because you are an American, and they are too- except they took that extra step- you could call it a giant leap to put action behind their ideals and beliefs, what can we do back home? Attend parades this weekend, go to tributes that are going on all around the country, go to Church- pray for those who are ensuring our future freedoms. AND- always, every day of the year remember those who have fought for the freedom we have enjoyed as a country for 230+ years.

Include in your prayers those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for they have contributed immeasurably to a future they would never see. I would love nothing more than to see all of our troops come home right now, to hold their loved ones right now... it would be nice to see, but the job is not done yet. I hope to see in my lifetime a world that is truly at peace, but as is depicted on the seal of our great nation in it's right talon the eagle holds an olive branch- a symbol of peace, and is forever looking toward it, in it's left talon it holds a bundle of arrows- a symbol of war or fight. While we are a peaceful nation the threat to our peace is always being challenged, from outside our great country, and sadly sometimes from within; Ernest Hemingway once wrote “The world is a fine place and worth the fighting for... ” It is. I know America is doing the right thing, and has for over two centuries of it's history, we cannot, and must not leave our country or the world exposed to the tyranny of world leaders whose agenda is self-serving and beneficial only to themselves and their mis-guided followers.

I plan to attend services this weekend at Church and other more solemn tributes, I hope you do also, but if you can't get to one then just try to keep these brave soldiers- from all branches of the service, and all walks of life in your thoughts especially this weekend.

On a personal note- my father, and grandfather served as did uncles, my father-in-law, and many other relatives did; I would like to thank and honor them because the freedom I have now I owe to them as well as the millions of others who have and are currently serving.

Radio Blah-Blah

Sometimes I never know what to write, or just don't feel like writing- but that's when I really should be writing. Speaking of writing I came across this website to help out for those times when I can't get motivated. There is also this site, if you like to read then check this out there are a ton of great articles to peruse!!

Let's get political- as I had written before Mitt Romney is my first choice for president because I know he would be great for America, but, since that probably will not happen I will be voting for John McCain. I hope the dems know what they are doing; sure Obama is leading in super-duper delegates and everything, however I don't think that Obama has as good a chance of beating McCain than Hillary does. To me, McCain and Obama are two opposites, and given a choice I pray that the American voter will see that we need a tough leader who thinks that protecting our country from terrorists is one of the most important things we can do right now. Sure, there are alot of things we need to do to strengthen our country from within, but strenghtening our country from the outside is number one priority. Now is not the time for "change"; as much as I want our troops to come home and be with their families we just can't afford to expose ourselves to the constant threat of terrorism; it's like a weed and right now we've only yanked out what we can see, we still have to get rid of what's underground. Vote McCain in '08!!!

I love presents!! Who doesn't, I have gotten many a nice gift in my lifetime, but there is one gift that we have all received that most of us haven't opened yet- this gift isn't in the back of the closet, it's not in the attic, it's not even in the basement. What is it? It is a gift of the spirit... we all have received a special gift from God that we can use for the good of all. Some of us have found our gift and are using it right now- I don't know what my gift is... I have a pretty good idea, and I want to share it with the world. Everybody is special, everybody is important, as you walk down the street in any city or town everybody you pass by is part of our society, none more important than the rest, we need each other. We feed off each other, we all can benefit tremendously by sharing with each other.

Old Friend

You know my goal was to write everyday in my blog, even though I have not quite met that goal, it is still my goal. Actually the reason I am even back here is that I heard from an old friend, no, I'll say a friend I haven't heard from in a while, no, that's not quite right either. Anyway you get the idea. She posted something on my Mitt Romney post (on my birthday of all days, I thought that was a nice touch.) I just thought it was nice that somebody read my blog, it didn't even dawn on me that I knew this person, this just reaffirms the notion that it is a small world, despite all of the global this and global that, we are still a small town and not to be preachy, but God is all around us giving us little taps on the shoulder, and nudges when we are going stray. No bolts of lightning, no booming voices from above, just little reminders as we progress along in life. 2008 Primaries- GO MITT!

Phew! What a wild ride it has been in this election so far. I am watching the returns from super Tuesday, and I am sickened by the media's views on the election coverage. With calls for Mitt Romney to withdraw from the race echoing from every channel, even my Foxnews. They should just step aside and let the people decide who gets the nomination. Mitt Romney is the strongest candidate for a stronger America, in these uncertain times we need strong leadership. Things are too tense right now in Iran, Iraq, the state of our economy, the struggle with illegal immigration. Things are just too tense and unsettled for politics as usual, we need a strong America, I just feel that the other candidates will not build this country up as Mitt will.
