2011, and other... Stuff!!

I know I do this every year.. but, I fully intend to blog if not everyday in '11, darn near close to it. They may not be long drawn out posts, but they will be posts none the less. I also know thats talk is cheap, my goal for this new year is to post more each month, and for the new year than I have ever done. I am a writer, and I recently participated in NaNoWriMo and I wrote over 50,000 words in a month, so I know I can do it. I also want to read the entire bible in the year 2011, and continue to grow in my christian faith; God has given me life, and I desire to know more about his word. The Bible is truly a literary as well as historical masterpiece for me, and I owe it to myself to know all i can about God's plan for me. I also think this is a pivotal year for me, as well as my country- USA, and I hope to follw through with plans I have for myself, as well as follow the course our nation is taking. I feel strongly for my country, and I do feel that we have strayed far off course from where we need to be, our personal freedoms are being infringed upon through political correctness, and the stifling encroachment of our government into our personal lives, I believe that citizens of this once and still great nation need to be free to live our lives as we see fit...

We have gotten away from that, and although the majority of our nation believes in God, we are being directed away from that concept by a small minority of people who are not happy unless they water down our beliefs for some kind of common ground, I do hope that will never happen. Our nation was made strong by all of the diverse people, and views we all have and that is the only way we will remain strong. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!

Writing again

Well, I have joined NaNoWriMo again, I first joined in 2009, after I heard about if from a friend. Probel was that I started late (November 5) while I was doing very well, I just ran out of gas at the end, was it the late start? Who knows, but This year I eagerly joined again. I hope that I can 'win' This year and really give my writing the push it needs, I don't know maybe I make a new years resolution that I write at least once a day on my blog? Sounds good doesn't it? I have been reading friends blogs, random blogs, and various writing resources out there. I have also been seeing excerpts from other peoples writing. My question (To myself) is why do i think that their writing is so good, and easy to read? I know it is because that is a finished work, it is polished, all spelling and grammer errors have bee removed. Note to self: Stp being your own worst critic! End of note. For anyone else out there who is in NaNoWriMo best of luck and write your heart out!!

Leading Worship

I just got a copy of the 8/15/2010 church bulletin. I will be leading the worship for the 8:15/9:30/11:00 services on that Sunday. I am very excited to do this, maybe a sermon will be in my future? I sure hope so!! It's been a long time coming for me, I have always wanted to be more involved in the church, and if this is what God wants from me, well then, I am definitely up for the challenge!!

Luke 7:36-50

My first bible reading at Church occurred today, I read the passage that happens to be the title of this post. The sinful woman in this verse was like the man who owed the money lender 500 silver coins, Simon the Pharisee even told Jesus that that man would have loved the forgiving moneylender more as his debt was greater. But, Simon failed to realize that the woman 'owed' more in sins, and Jesus, because of her treatment of Jesus, forgave her. She loved Jesus more than Simon who thought that inviting him to his house was enough to show Jesus love, but as Jesus pointed out that Simon failed to give Jesus even the most basic of courtesies which in that day would be to give water to guests with which to wash their feet. The woman had the most to lose (her sins) so she wanted to show Jesus that she was faithful to him. And the woman was rewarded by Jesus who forgave her.

Just watched Joyce Meyer ministry on tv this morning. Another great message, today I will not let fear stand in my way, nor will I let the opinions of others affect my mental state. Today has been blessed by GOD!! I will have an excellent day, and I hope others will catch my good mood, I will not mask that I am a child of GOD.

Out of turmoil...

One quick note about the "imperfect game"- As the umpire called the runner safe, disbelief spread throughout the stadium, and soon the entire baseball world. The announcers even began to call the runner out; forgetting for a brief minute that they were not in control of the game. At that time the first base umpire was in control, a man by the name of Jim Joyce. He thought he got the call right, but even he admitted he was wrong when he saw the replay. He admitted he was wrong. The pitcher Armando Galarraga knew instantly he was wronged, he too was in disbelief, but rather than berate the umpire for his obvious mistake, he also admitted something, he admitted that we are human and therefore, are not perfect. We can all learn a lesson from this unfortunate incident, baseball could have suffered a black-eye, but the two men at the center of it all did not give in to the bloggers, the media, the fan outrage; they both took the high ground and because of that taught us all a lesson. It's more than just a game. Games are won games are lost, home runs are hit, batters strike out. A brief write-up in the paper the next day, and the game is history. As long as these two upstanding men are part of our 'summer past time'; this writer knows there is hope for us yet, not just in base-ball, but in life... where winning isn't everything.
